Just two weeks remain in the girls basketball regular season.  And in the game of the week last week, Portland avenged their only loss of the season by beating defending Division 2 state champion Lansing Catholic at home by a 51-44 count.  Guard Malia Thelen was great, scoring 27 points and leading them to victory.

As far as the league races go, DeWitt clinched a share of the CAAC Blue with a 54-42 win over East Lansing.  And Williamston won the outright title in the CAAC Red with a 56-28 home win over Fowlerville.

The CMAC race looks like it's down to two teams.  As Portland St. Patrick (14-1) and Fowler (13-2) have separated themselves from the pack.  However, both teams play defending league champion Dansville on the road this week.  If they both lose to the Aggies, it brings other teams back in the race for the final week of the regular season.

And this coming Sunday, the girls basketball district pairings will be announced.  We'll discuss those same time next week.

This week's top games are:

Tuesday:  DeWitt at Holt and Portland at Charlotte.

Wednesday:  Laingsburg at Bath and Portland St. Patrick at Dansville

Thursday:  Waverly at DeWitt and East Lansing at Okemos.

Friday:  Williamston at Mason, Olivet at Lansing Catholic, Portland St. Patrick at Bath, Fowler at Dansville, and P-W at Laingsburg.

Saturday:  Hartland at East Lansing.

Brock Palmbos will recap everything that happened during the week with High School Rewind.  Which airs every Saturday during the season from 10a-11a on The Game 730 AM WVFN.
