Who’s Jumping Into the Portal Next?
Since the green and white game on Saturday at Spartan Stadium, nine players have gone into the transfer portal and left the MSU football team. This makes a total of 26 players that have left the program since the end of the season. This number is the most in the Big Ten.
What does that tell you?
It tells me a few things. It tells me that Mark Dantonio and his old staff were not recruiting players that could flat out play. This is unbelievable. That’s a third of your team. So, all the respect to the former head coach, he didn’t bring in good players and he also brought in players that got into big trouble and left the program under duress.

Mel Tucker is in his second year as the MSU football head coach. He knows this team has to improve big-time in his second year. This team is being pieced together like a quilt. A lot of the players that will be on the roster at the start of the season aren’t even on campus yet!
So many players have left the program. These players will be replaced by other players from other universities around the country in the transfer portal. I'm going to say this again because it's just unbelievable: nine players have left the program just from this past Saturday.
Mel Tucker Isn't Messing Around
This also tells me that Mel Tucker is not putting up with shoddy play anymore. This man was brought in to win. He also received a reference from Nick Saban, so you definitely don’t want to let him down!
The transfer portal is a new way of life for college athletics. Mel Tucker has to use this to his advantage. This team has to be vastly improved this coming season!
