Well, to a lot of people's surprise, the Detroit Lions have won two in a row. Every nut does find a blind squirrel once in a while. The Lions won both games on the road versus decent but not great teams.

Now they find themselves at 3-3 the .500 mark. If the Lions can get on a roll, that would be something. Detroit now seems to have found a running game with rookie running back Swift out of Georgia. If he can continue to get some yards and some of the other backs can spell him, they might just have something going in a positive direction.

Matthew Stafford has really emerged as the team leader. I think they can beat their opponent this Sunday at Ford Field. They lock up with the Indy Colts. Their new quarterback is Phillip Rivers who has played his entire career in San Diego. But the Lions are on a bit of a win streak (and they should have beat the Bears in week one).

I’m still not convinced that head coach Matt Patricia is the right man for that job. But he has a chance to save his job by putting the Lions in the Playoffs. If for whatever reason he falls short, he and the G.M. Bob Quinn should be shown the door. So this Sunday it’s the Lions versus the Colts. Can the Lions cut the cake and get their third win a row? I guess will see soon enough.
