The new General Manager of the Detroit Lions, Brad Holmes, didn’t waste any time in making a blockbuster trade.

Over the weekend the team that he used to work with, the LA Rams, is who he consummated a huge trade with. The Lions sent disgruntled quarterback Matthew Stafford to the Rams for their quarterback Jared Goff. The Lions also received a third- round draft choice in 2021, a first- round draft choice in 2022 and a first round draft choice in 2023.

The deal cannot become legitimate until St. Patrick’s Day since that is the first day of the new league.

Listen, everyone might think Goff turned into a stiff, but we have to wait and see if he just needed a change of scenery like maybe Stafford does. I feel the Lions got the better of the deal with two first round picks and a third. Plus, Goff might just pan out after all. I feel at least the Detroit Lions organization is trying to get better. New everything, and that’s what had to happen. The old guard flat out smelled.

So, we will see if Jared Goff can become the quarterback he once was with the Rams. Just a couple of years ago he led them to the Super Bowl. This is a very intriguing trade by both franchises.

Matthew Stafford got his wish and moved to LA. That’s where his former high school battery mate lives and works. That cat is Clayton Kershaw of the Dodgers.
