1. Tigers Win Two Straight, Two Behind Royals In AL Central

The Detroit Tigers had a rough weekend in Minnesota.  The Tigers lost the first game 20-6 and the second game of the series 12-4.  Then, the pitching got better and the bats woke up and won game three 8-6 and game four 13-4. In the final game, Rajai Davis went 2-6 with 2 RBI's and a home run.  Victor Martinez went 3-6 with 4 RBI's and a home run.  Max Scherzer took the mound for the Tigers and went 5 innings giving up 3 runs on 7 hits.  The bullpen pitched better in the last game of the series, giving up one run over the 4 innings of work.  The Tigers have an off day today before hosting the New York Yankees in Derek Jeter's last game in Detroit.

2. Lions Top Jacksonville In 3rd Preseason Game

In the 3rd tuneup of the year, the Detroit Lions topped the Jacksonville Jaguars 13-12.  The Lions had solid offensive production from the first team.  Reggie Bush broke free for an 86 yard run for a total of 95 yards.  Matthew Stafford went 10/16 for 98 yards with 1 interception.  The Lions have two weeks until their first official game a Monday Night Matchup against the New York Giants.

3. Sam Bradford Out For Season

Sam Bradford, quarterback of the St. Louis Rams, is now out for the 2014 season with a torn ACL.  Bradford has not really been healthy for a full season since he entered the league.  Last year he had missed 9 games with an injury.  Former Lions backup, Shaun Hill will be the starting quarterback for the St. Louis Rams this upcoming season.

4. South Korea Wins Little League World Series Title

The 2014 Little League World Series is now over and we have a new champion.  South Korea tops the team from Jackie Robinson West All-Stars from Chicago 8-4. This is South Korea's third title.  Jackie Robinson West can go back to Chicago as the American champion for Little League World Series.

5. Royals Win Series; Loses Game 3 Of Series

The Kansas City Royals won the series against the Texas Rangers but lost the last game 3-1.  Jason Vargas took the loss going 6 innings giving up 3 runs, 2 earned with 11 hits and 3 strikeouts.  The Rangers sent Scott Baker to the mound going 5 innings giving up 1 run, on 5 hits with 1 strikeout.  The Royals play the New York Yankees in a makeup game today.
