Whitecaps Minor League Baseball Could Have a Major League Feel Th

No one wants to see Major League Baseball not start in the spring, but the MLB lockout could very well benefit the West Michigan Whitecaps start to their 2022 season.

There is no doubt that going to LMCU Ballpark for a Whitecaps baseball game is still one of the most affordable fun things a family can do together in West Michigan. The Whitecaps play great baseball and the ballpark puts on some pretty good events to entertain the kids and the adults.

Major League Baseball Lockout

With MLB and the players union at odds with the lockout, the Whitecaps may be the only baseball going on this spring, which is great for the Caps and not so great for the Detroit Tigers.

The Whitecaps are a High A-affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, these players still need a place to work out and since the lockout is keeping them from entering Comerica Park we may see a few big leaguers at LMCU Ballpark.

Keep in mind that all the teams the Whitecaps play are also affiliated with other MLB teams, so the visiting team may bring a few big leaguers to LMCU Ballpark when taking on the Whitecaps.

West Michigan Whitecaps Season Opener

The Whitecaps season kicks off April 8 with an away weekend against the Great Lakes Loons but the opening day at LMCU Ballpark will be April 12 against the Lansing Lugnuts.

If this MLB lockout continues you may get to watch some big-time players on the Whitecaps and whoever they are playing against.
