Red Wings Condemn Use of Logo at White Supremacist Rally
There is unrest in Charlottesville, Viriginia over what was called the "Unite the Right" rally this weekend. The protests and violence surrounding the event has forced the Governor of Virginia to declare it an unlawful gathering and order a state of emergency for Virginia.
In the midst of all this happening though, there were some on twitter who noticed something odd.
It's not an exact Red Wings logo but it is obviously similar enough to be recognized. The reason that logo is prevalent there is because of a White Supremacist Identitarian group known as the "Detroit Right Wings". The group is in no way affiliated with the actual NHL team the Detroit Red Wings
The Detroit Red Wings responded to the use of their logo with a sternly worded statement that implies legal action will be coming.
