Michigan Men Tasting Success as NFL Coaches
In just his second season as Head Coach of the Green Bay Packers, Matt LaFleur has lead Green Bay to 2 NFC Championship games. Last season, they lost to San Francisco and his little brother Mike in the Championship game 37-20. They will have their hands full again this Sunday with Tom Brady and red hot Tampa Bay coming to town with the winner getting to go to Super Bowl LV. Matt just beat his good friend and NFL boy wonder Sean McVay and the Rams 32-18 to advance. If you didn't know Matt LaFleur is from Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. So is his brother.
Today was another great day for the LaFleur family. It was announced Matt's younger brother Mike was named the offensive coordinator for the New York Jets. There, he will be teamed up with his former defensive coordinator in San Francisco Robert Saleh.
Saleh is also from Michigan, Dearoborn and started as a graduate assistant at MSU. He has already made history as the first Muslim head coach in the NFL. Saleh was heavily rumored to get the job in Detroit but last week he shocked a few people by taking the New York Jets head coaching job. The Lions hired Dan Campbell today. Jets or Lions? It's like deciding between a kick in the groin or losing a tooth. Salah's brother made it out of the Trade Center after the plane hit... So, this family has some good luck.
Good luck to all these guys. 2 of the 3 are already millionaires.
