The football regular season may be over as the Michigan Wolverines look forward to a New Years Day bowl game, but the basketball team is just getting started. Let's just say they are making headlines early in the season.

New head coach and former Wolverine Juwan Howard lost last year's top three offensive players at the beginning of the season, but had a core of guys on the team that believed in the new coach's system. It looks like it is starting to pay off as the Wolverines started the season unranked and after beating #6 North Carolina and #8 Gonzaga in the Battle of Atlantis Tournament the Wolverines, they now sit at #4 in this week's AP poll.

It is the largest jump in the 70 years of the AP polls. The young, talented, and hungry Wolverines now will see how good they are as they take on the #1 team in the nation the Louisville Cardinals tomorrow night. I can't wait for March Madness.
