When I was around five or six years old, I had an encounter with the Easter Bunny. My mom, dad and I lived at 1433 Sunnyside across from the street from Potter Park. It was Easter morning and I was up at daylight.

I was looking out the back picture window, and I saw the Easter Bunny walking down Lindbergh Drive. It obviously was a person in a bunny suit, but I was a little boy so I didn't know that. It was unbelievable. I ran out the door in my football pajamas with feet. I ran around the block to cut the Easter Bunny off.

So now the Easter Bunny guy has to walk right by me. Here he comes and totally blows me off. I was crushed. But I vowed to see him up close and personal again. This would be later in the day at the Easter Egg Hunt at Potter Park. I begged my parents to take me.

They did and I saw that Easter Bunny guy again. I told my parents that there was the Easter Bunny I saw walking down the road. Now, the Easter Egg Hunt began. I got in trouble because I kept knocking kids down for hidden eggs. I just thought that’s what you did. I was wrong, but I ended up with a lot of swag.

Be looking for that Easter Bunny this Sunday!
