The Detroit Red Wings had two first round picks last summer.  Filip Zadina and Joe Veleno.  Zadina played a few games in Detroit, Veleno just finished up his junior career.

According to the story from M-Live, the 30th overall pick in last year's draft has signed a three year entry level deal with the Red Wings.

He recently wrapped up his junior career in Quebec with Drummondville.  He is expected to play in Grand Rapids with the Griffins in the fall.   He could make the Red Wings roster but it will take a dominate training camp for him to make it.

The center was selected with the 30th pick in the past draft.  The Red Wings landed the pick in the Tomas Tatar trade with the Vegas Golden Knights.

Veleno should be at developmental camp with the Wings this summer.   He should also be a apart of the annual Prospect Tournament which takes place in Traverse City late summer.
