Steve Yzerman has returned to Detroit as GM and it looks like another Red Wings great is considering a return.

According to M-Live, former Red Wings great, Pavel Datsyuk is considering a return to his old club.

Datsyuk has played the past few years in Russia.  He recently announced on Twitter that he will not return to his team in The KHL.

This opens the possibility that Datsyuk could return to play for the Red Wings.   When he left to play in Russia, the team traded his rights to Arizona and swapped draft picks.

The picks the Red Wings ended up with turned into defensemen, Dennis Cholowski and Filip Hronek.

The Coyotes hold his rights until July 1st  when he will be a free agent.    If he decides to leave the KHL, his agent has said that he will only play in Detroit.

Being a big Red Wings fan I would be for the reunion with Pavel Datsyuk.  He is 40 but he still has some hockey left in him.   As long as he doesn't take up a major spot for a younger player, you can welcome him back if he wants to play in Detroit.

Should Pavel Datsyuk come back to Detroit for another year?
