Univ. of Maryland Takes Responsibility For McNair Death
In a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, University of Maryland President Wallace Loh (pictured) and Athletic Director Damon Evans took responsibility for the death of former football player Jordan McNair, which occurred on May 29th on campus.
This press conference happens just days after ESPN.com published a report detailing serious allegations of player abuse (verbal and physical), as well as overdoing off-season workouts.
During Tuesday's presser, AD Evans announced that the school had dismissed football strength and conditioning coach Rick Court.
President Loh also stated that he has put together a four-person commission to investigate the allegations made in the ESPN.com article. During this time, head football coach D.J. Durkin will remain on administrative leave from the school.
The Terrapin football team begins their 2018 season on September 1st.
