Ingham County Judge Rosemarie Aquilina will stay on the Larry Nassar (pictured above) sentencing case, despite the attempts of Nassar's attorneys to remove her from it.

Ingham County Circuit Court Chief judge Richard Garcia ruled on Tuesday that Aquilina would stay on the case and would hear the appeals by Nassar and his attorneys to have him be resentenced.

Judge Aquilina sentenced the former MSU and USA Gymnastics doctor to 40-175 years in prison for multiple convictions on criminal sexual conduct (CSC) in Ingham County earlier this year.  Nassar was sentenced in Eaton County to 40-125 years in jail on similar CSC charges not long after the Ingham County proceedings.

He is currently serving 60 years in an Arizona penitentary on child pornography charges.
