Last night was the traditional NBA draft, and two MSU Spartan players were drafted in the second round.

This is how it shook out. The Sacramento Kings drafted Xavier Tillman Sr. and officially traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies at number 35 in the second round. Then, the Oklahoma City Thunder drafted Cassius Winston and they reportedly traded him to the Washington Wizards.

Xavier Tillman Sr. who played for MSU is a very solid player. He’s 6-foot-8 and weighs in at 250 pounds. A very smart player, a father of two and a husband. I feel he will be a very good NBA player once he learns the ropes.

Then at number 53 in Round Two the Wizards end up with possibly the steal of the draft Cassius Winston. Winston will also be a very solid NBA player after he learns the ropes. This guy is the all-time assist leader in the history of BIG 10 basketball. He was also offered an academic scholarship from Harvard out of high school. That tells me about the intelligence of Winston. He is a floor general who can lull you and then score. The guy is a flat out special player.

Bottom line is Tom Izzo has put two more guys in the NBA. Both of these guys also will be solid character guys in the NBA.
