A Tom Brady rookie football card (which was also autographed) was sold in an online auction this week for $400,100 - the most ever paid for a football card at auction.

According to Business Insider, the card, part of the "2000 Playoff Contenders Championship Ticket" collection, was also in mint condition. Brett Huigens, the CEO of PWCC Marketplace, called it the "finest football card we've brokered in our 20-year history". I don't know how much the autograph helped the price.

There were only 100 of these specific cards printed, but my thought is that somebody in Michigan who was a big Tom Brady fan at the time (maybe you), might have one of these cards. And even if you don't have one, it'll give you something to look for at yard sales this summer.

As much as this card went for - baseball cards are still king. The most ever paid for a baseball card is $3.12 million, for a 1909 Honus Wagner card. The record for a post-World War II baseball card is $2.88 million for a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card.

Here's the story. Good luck on your hunt for one of these cards. Call us if you find one.
