As you probably know by now, the Detroit Pistons have hired former Duke star and NBA player Trajan Langdon (pictured, right) as the team's new President of Basketball Operations.

In addition to that, the Pistons fired general manager Troy Weaver after four years at the helm in the Motor City.

The Pistons have been in malaise ever since the team traded future Hall of Famer Chauncey Billups to the Denver Nuggets for Allen Iverson.  They have not won a playoff game since Game 4 of the 2008 Eastern Conference Finals (they eventually lost to the eventual NBA Champion Boston Celtics in that series).

They have only made the playoffs three times since the Billups trade.  And they have been swept in the first round all three times.

And they are coming off the worst regular season stretch in franchise history (74-244 in the last four years).

And despite having the worst record in the NBA, the team got bad luck in this spring's NBA Draft Lottery.  They ended up with the 5th overall pick in the 1st round.  They also have the 53rd overall pick in the second round.  The NBA Draft is later this month.

And so...considering the failures of Troy Weaver (which are considerable).  And the lack of success overall during the Tom Gores helm as team owner, do you any faith in Langdon to turn this organization around?

As you can see in the photo gallery below, the Pistons have some major decisions to make this off-season.  What do you do with Cade Cunningham?  James Wiseman?  Simone Fontecchio?  Lots of questions with this pathetic franchise.

But, like the title says:  Does It Matter?

And like I always say:  Do You Even Care about the Detroit Pistons?
