ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting on Friday afternoon that defensive tackle Mike Daniels (pictured), who was recently released by the Green Bay Packers, is close to a deal to join the Detroit Lions.

Pro Football Talk reports that Daniels spoke with the Cleveland Browns earlier this week, but could not come to an agreement.

Daniels played in only 10 games in 2018, getting two sacks and making 18 tackles.  But he was an Pro Bowler in 2017 for the Pack when he had five sacks and had 49 tackles.
