Red Wings Sign Jimmy Howard To Extension
The Detroit Red Wings have agreed to a 1-year contract extension with veteran goaltender Jimmy Howard (pictured) on Wednesday.
Howard was slated to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. He has been with the Red Wings since he was drafted by the team in 2003.
Jimmy is 19-20-5 this season for the Wings with a 3.05 goals against average with a .908 save percentage. He was selected to this year's All-Star Game earlier this season. He has split time in net this season with Jonathan Bernier.
The deal is reportedly worth $4 million plus incentives.
