Red Wings Point Total For New Season Projected Near Bottom Of NHL
The Red Wings missed the playoffs and are predicted to not improve much from their recent 74 point season.
According to M-Live, the Red Wings point total is projected at 75 1/2 for the 2019-2020 season. The number is 1 1/2 points better than what they finished with last season 74.
75 1/2 points is the third worst for the upcoming season only the Kings and Senators are worse.
Compare them to the top team, Tampa at 108 1/2 the Red Wings have a long way to go.
Could they surprise the numbers and improve? Another year featuring the young forward core could see a little improvement.
Prospects Filip Zadina and Joe Veleno could be a factor in how the team performs if either makes the jump to the Red Wings. As in the past few years it will come down to the performance of the defense and goaltenders, Jimmy Howard and Jonathan Bernier.
We'll see what happens when the Red Wings open their 2019-2020 season on October 5th in Nashville.
