Red Wings Learn Their Draft Position For 2019 On April 9th
The Red Wings are officially eliminated from the playoffs this year. Next up will be the NHL Draft Lottery where the Red Wings will find out where they draft in June.
According to the story from M-Live, the draft lottery will be on Tuesday, April 9th in Toronto.
Here the Red Wings and the other non playoff teams will find out where they will pick in the draft.
The Red Wings currently are the 2nd from last team in the NHL. The worst team is the Ottawa Senators. Their pick though this year goes to the Colorado Avalanche.
The odds are the Avalanche have a 18.5% chance to land the overall pick. The Red Wings are at 13.5%. Three drawings will take place with one team getting the top pick another for second and a third for the third pick.
From there the order is set by points from the year. The Red Wings should once again have a good amount of selections. Last year their top pick was number 6 when they selected Filip Zadina.
The draft lottery results will be revealed on NBC Sports Net on April 9th at 8 p.m.
