Michigan State junior forward/center Thomas Kithier (pictured vs. Maryland in the Big Ten Tournament) will enter the transfer portal, according to media reports.

Kithier started 14 games for the Spartans this past season.  But he fell behind Malik Hall, Julius Marble, and Mady Sissoko on the depth chart and he did not play in two of the team's last three games.

Thomas was a high school star at Macomb Dakota HS through his junior year.  But he transferred to Clarkston HS to play with future Spartan teammate Foster Loyer for his senior season (2017-18 season).  But he was ruled ineligible by the MHSAA and did not play his senior year of high school.

The Spartans now have now lost a total of five players since the end of the season.  Josh Langford and Aaron Henry are going pro.  While Kithier, Jack Hoiberg, and Rocket Watts have all entered the transfer portal.

MSU finished 15-13 overall and in ninth place in the Big Ten.  They lost to eventual Final Four participant UCLA in overtime in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament back in March.
