Michigan State Parks Hosting Fall Festivals
More than 30 of Michigan's state parks are hosting fall harvest festivals this year. Those festivals will include activities such as hayrides, pumpkin carving, trick-or-treating, costume contests, haunted trails, nature programs and horse-drawn carriage rides. According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources website, the events will take place in September and October. Please keep in mind that a lot of the fall harvest festivals at the state parks are for campers only.
For those campers that stay closer to the Lansing area, Sleepy Hollow State Park will be holding their fall festival for campers only on Saturday, October 5th. Brighton Recreation Area in Howell will be holding their fall festival weekend (for campers only) October 11th through the 13th. The Pinckney Recreation Area will be holding their Halloween Havoc on September 27th. Some of the fall festivals elsewhere include the South Higgins Lake State Park Harvest Festival on September 27th and the Tahquamenon Falls State Park's Harvest Festival will take place on October 12th.
