Michigan Man Will Attempt to Run All of M-22 on May 22nd
Runners are a crazy breed. Back around the 80's when you saw someone running, you just assumed they were a crazy person or out of gas. Now, there are 5K's, 10K's, half marathons, full marathons, ultramarathons. People will PAY to go run... At least before the COVID-19 pandemic but runners are smart, creative people. They are finding ways to adapt.
Last year, one of our local people, Eric Spitz shared with us his intention to run a marathon in every state. Click here to see that story. He said a lot of people have done a marathon in every state. Someone inspired him to set a pretty lofty goal.
But not everyone has run ALL of M-22 up north. It's about 116 miles. Andy Belanger says he wants to do it all in one run, starting May 22nd. Click here to see the full story.
You can see his Facebook page by clicking here. He is doing it for charity, the Leelanau Conservancy and has already raised over 15 hundred bucks DURING THE PANDEMIC! He is asking for donations. I noticed on the page, he is also rocking a kick ass #maystashe.
Some people think these guys are just doing it for attention but these stunts do inspire a lot of people. Sometimes to take up running or just get off their butts and start exercising a little. You never know who you will inspire.
