Marvin Jones Jr. broke out this year putting up his first 1,000+ receiving yard season and now he might be breaking out on the stage too.

In a video clip posted by the American Idol Facebook page, Jones Jr. is auditioning for the 16th season of the revived singing competition this spring. ESPN covered this news briefly in November of 2017 (reportedly he auditioned during the Lions bye week in October), but now the show has released his entire audition.

He's got some pipes that's for sure.

Jones sang "I Can't Make You Love Me" by the R&B singer Tank. He was judged by the show's new panel of judges Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. All three judges seemed to recognize who Jones was as soon as he walked to the audition stage.

From the clip, Jones' singing ability is something of a hidden talent. So hidden that apparently some of his teammates don't know of his ability. However, Jones is so invested in it (and is so good) that he has his own recording studio in his home.

The clip does not show whether or not Jones got a golden ticket to advance to the next round of the competition. That will be found out when the show starts up on March 11.
