The Detroit Lions placed starting running back Ameer Abdullah on injured reserve on Wednesday morning.  The second-year man suffered a foot injury in the second quarter of the Lions loss to Tennessee on Sunday.

Injuries and fumbles have plagued Abdullah's early NFL career.  He was the team's second round draft choice in 2015.

The team signed wide receiver Aaron Dobson to take Ameer's place on the 53-man roster.
