Lansing-Area H.S. Football Top 10 (After Week 7)
We had two major upsets last week that have shaken up the rankings this week.
Laingsburg pulled the biggest shocker by beating previously unbeaten Fowler on the road 27-13 behind the three touchdown passes from Ty Randall. As a reward, the Wolfpack are in this week's poll.
And let's give props to Head Coach Travis Long and the Ovid-Elsie Marauders as they upset perennial state power New Lothrop 14-13 on the road. O-E makes the poll for the first time as well.
And congratulations to Mason (for winning the outright CAAC Red), Portland (for winning the outright CAAC White), and Olivet (for winning the outright GLAC title). Oh yeah, and give credit to Laingsburg for clinching at least a share of the CMAC title.
There are changes to the poll this week, here it is:
Lansing-Area H.S. Football Top 10 (After Week 7)
Fowler and P-W can clinch shares of the CMAC title if they defeat Saranac and Bath, respectively. The winner of the East Lansing at Holt game will clinch a share of the CAAC Blue crown.
We've got lots of games with conference and playoff implications this week. They are: East Lansing at Holt, Everett at DeWitt, Haslett at Waverly, Lansing Catholic at Fowlerville, Olivet at Williamston, Perry at Laingsburg, and Bath at P-W. In 8-Player football, 6-1 Morrice is at 3-4 Portland St. Patrick and 5-2 Fulton is at Webberville.
We're tentatively scheduled to carry the East Lansing at Holt game this Friday night on The Game 730 AM WVFN. Brock Palmbos will have the pregame at 6:00pm, and then Erik "Doc" Love will join Brock from Holt HS just before 7:00pm with the call of the game.
