Lansing-Area H.S. Boys Basketball Poll – (2-8-22)

We are more than halfway through the high school boys basketball season.  And we are down to just one unbeaten team left in the Mid-Michigan area.  It's Williamston at 15-0.  This after Ovid-Elsie was beaten on Friday by Chesaning 50-42.

Williamston played their closest game of the season last Saturday when they beat Grand Rapids Union in GR 63-48.  This after blowing out East Lansing and Fowlerville earlier in the week.  The Hornets have shown they are the best team in the Lansing area this season

Some of the top games this week include:  Holt at East Lansing, Everett at DeWitt, and Haslett at Lansing Catholic (all on Tuesday).  On Wednesday, 12-1 Ovid-Elsie is at 7-4 Laingsburg.  On Thursday, Williamston can clinch a share of the CAAC Red title if they win at Haslett.  Then on Friday, DeWitt is at East Lansing, Okemos is at Holt, and Laingsburg is at P-W (which you'll hear on WVFN).

One other note regarding the upcoming state tournament.  The draw for the boys tournament will be on February 27th.  The draw for the girls tournament is on February 20th.

As mentioned before, the Laingsburg @ P-W game will hit our airwaves on Friday night.  Coverage begins at around 7:00.  Erik "Doc" Love and Brock Palmbos will have the call.
