Lansing-Area Boys Basketball Top 10 Poll – (December 27th)

OK, so I may have lied a little bit...

I told you last week that I would not post another high school basketball top 10 poll until after the first of the New Year.

Well, given the fact that most schools were in session and most high school teams played multiple games last week, I found it necessary to update both the boys and girls basketball polls for this week.  And there were notable results that forced me to make changes for this week.

Now, there WON'T be a poll for next week (January 2nd or 3rd) simply because a majority of teams are taking the holiday break off or playing only once before school resumes in January.

The majority of action will resume the week of January 8th.  But there are some notable games this week.  On Wednesday, Everett plays at Benton Harbor while undefeated East Lansing faces Detroit Martin Luther King.  On Thursday, Mason hosts their own holiday tournament.  And they open with Walled Lake Western (a familiar football foe) in the semifinals.  Also, Fowler faces Muskegon Mona Shores.

On Friday, DeWitt plays at Sparta while 6-1 P-W is at Williamston.  Then on Saturday, 7-1 Okemos takes on Dexter at Little Caesars Arena.  And East Lansing plays perennial power River Rouge.

There will be no high school basketball game broadcast coverage this week.  But High School Rewind will air as scheduled this Saturday morning at 10am.  It's the weekly show recapping the week that was in boys and girls basketball.
