The moment New York Yankees fans have been waiting for might take a little longer. Yankee Captain Derek Jeter's Baseball Hall of Fame induction is currently scheduled for this summer but the prevailing wisdom is Jeter and his fans will have to wait until 2021.

Jeter's enshrinement was expected to break attendance records for Cooperstown, NY but in an article form, USA Today the belief is the coronavirus will force this event to 2021. There are a few concerns that make postponement likely. We still don't know exactly where we'll be as far as infection rate in July, plus the HOF normally brings in 70 plus Hall of Famers. All of this would potentially cause more people to be infected and or people to not come to celebrate Jeter and the rest of the 2020 HOF class.

I will hate that I need to wait to see "The Captain" be enshrined but I think this is a smart precaution.
