If you're a steak-eater, chances are you're particular about how you want your meat prepared. Personally, I'm comfortably in the middle - somewhere between shoe leather and still mooing.

Sure, steak is something we can make at home on our own. But there's something special about going out for steak - whether it's a chain restaurant like an Outback or Texas Roadhouse, or somewhere fancier like Capital Prime or Bowdie's in Lansing.

Best Steakhouse in Michigan

The Daily Meal has named the Best Steakhouses in Every State, and Michigan's representative on the list is Prime + Proper on Griswold St. in downtown Detroit.

Here's what they had to say about it:

Detroit's Prime + Proper opened in 2017 and quickly became a firm favorite of those living in the city. The restaurant's foundation is its solid beef selection. All cuts are USDA Prime as standard although rarer meats, including wagyu, also feature on the menu. More interestingly, Prime + Proper flirts with experimental aging processes, resulting in dishes like the 20-ounce Whiskey Aged Cowboy Ribeye. A modern interior and knowledgeable staff complete the experience.

According to the restaurant's website, you'll be shelling out $69 for their Filet Mignon, $86 for a Bone-In New York Strip, $95 for a 20-ounce Cowboy Ribeye, and $155 for a Porterhouse. If you're feeling really adventurous, you could sink your teeth into a 12-ounce Australian Wagyu New York Strip for a cool $200.
