Mix 95.7 Joins Two Men And a Truck To Give Away Free Prom Dresses To West Michigan Teens

Prom is stressful. You have to find the perfect date, you need to make sure you have a ride, and don't forget those matching Boutonnieres!

For some people in West Michigan, affording all of the things you need can be the daunting part of prom season. That's why we decided to do something about it. Thanks to several community partners, hundreds of West Michigan girls will be going to prom this year with a free dress.

On Saturday March 23rd, we at Mix 95.7 and our sister station Magic 104.9, teamed up with the crew at Two Men and a Truck to host a prom dress giveaway that gave away hundreds of dresses to girls from all schools in West Michigan, no strings attached. Fantastic Sams of Comstock Park also jumped in and offered updo coupons, to make even the finishing touches of Prom night just that much easier (and affordable, too.)

It was heart warming to see groups of friends, mom and daughters, and even a few dads browsing the racks to find the perfect new or gently loved dress for their own special night. Offering sizes 0-18, almost everyone was able to walk out with one (or more) dresses of their own.

The response to the event was more overwhelming than we could have even imagined. When we arrived that morning to see a line around the building, we knew that it was going to be a day we'd never forget. Tears were shed, hugs were shared, and we couldn't have done it without the support of the incredible West Michigan community.

A big thank you goes out to everyone who made this possible, including the crew at Two Men & a Truck, Fantastic Sams, and all of the kind people who donated their dresses to this cause. We hope to be able to make this a yearly tradition, assuring that no West Michigan teen will ever have to worry about having a dress for the most magical night of the year.
