Good Housekeeping has just unveiled its 2024 Best Family Travel Awards. The experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute spent the past eight months reviewing hundreds of travel-related products, services, and experiences to help us plan our 2024 get-aways. One of their picks for "Must-See Cities" is here in Michigan!

In terms of finding the best vacation destinations, Good Housekeeping sent staff and other other travel professionals to visit cities, hotels, resorts, attractions and other destinations. Through standardized surveys, testers shared in-depth feedback on amenities, family friendliness, food, service, safety, inclusivity, sustainability and other factors.

Traverse City has been named among the Top 8 Must-See Cities in the U.S.!

Calling the Northern Michigan city "three vacations in one", here's Good Housekeeping's praise for Traverse City:

With a thriving downtown, family-friendly wineries and popular beach spots, small but mighty Traverse City (population about 15,500) is the travel equivalent of a triple threat. Your crew could be hunting for speckled Petoskey stones at the beach in the morning, spend an afternoon in the “secret garden” at the family-friendly Brys Estate Vineyard & Winery and then catch a show downtown at night. After a jam-packed day, the kids will go right to sleep at Grand Traverse Resort and Spa — though expect them to want to hit the property’s four pools (two are indoors) the next morning.

One tester said of TC,

If you’re looking for a family getaway on which you can be in touch with nature while still being in a town that has a lot of great food, wine and beer options, Traverse City is the spot.

Traverse City was also recently named the Top Foodie City in Michigan!
