In a game that lived up to the hype, Fowler got revenge on Portland St. Patrick.  And the lady Eagles ended the Lady Shamrocks undefeated season with a thrilling 50-41 victory on Friday night in the Division 4 district title game at a sold-out Lansing Christian High School.

Fowler (19-3) lost twice to St. Patrick (21-1) during the regular season, but rode the Riley sisters (Mia and Emma) and some timely shooting from Avery Koenigsknecht to get the victory and advance to next week's regional tournament.

Fowler (the defending state champs in Division 4) led at the end of each quarter:  11-9 after one, 21-19 at the half, 31-29 at the end of three quarters.  And then finally won 50-41.

The lady Eagles were led by Emma Riley, who scored 18 points on the night.  Her sister, Mia added nine points and 11 big rebounds.  And Avery Koenigsknecht added 10 points and three rebounds, and hit a big three-point basket in the final minutes to give Fowler the lead they would not relinquish.

Portland St. Patrick was led by Lydia Meredith, who scored 19 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.  Katelyn Russell added 11 points for the lady Shamrocks.

Fowler outrebounded St. Pats 25-24.  Free throws were pretty even as Fowler was 11-16, while St. Pats was 14-16.

With the win, Fowler advances to Tuesday's regional semifinal against Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart at Sacred Heart High School.  Portland St. Patrick's season ends at 21-1, but with an out right CMAC championship.
