East Lansing Wins Class A Regional, Advance to Quarters

The East Lansing Lady Trojans won another Class A regional championship in girls basketball with a thrilling 56-52 victory over a tough Jackson Northwest squad.

Michigan State commit Taryn McCutcheon led all scorers with 32 points, Amelia McNutt added 13 for EL.  The lady Mounties were led by Lexie Khon, who had 26 points, 16 of those in the second half.

McCutcheon was 12-15 from the free throw line, all of those in the second half, and many of them in crunch time late in the fourth quarter.

East Lansing now advances to the Class A Quarterfinal against Hudsonville on Tuesday night at 7:00 at Battle Creek Central HS.
