Now, the Masters are over and we have a new champion, Scottie Scheffler, from Dallas, Texas. But, to me, the larger story is how Eldrick ”Tiger “ Woods held up months after his car crash.

Tiger was involved in a very serious car crash about 17 months ago. I never thought he would compete in a tournament of that magnitude ever again. It was surely remarkable, to say the least. His leg was crushed.

He shot a six-over 78, which is pure greatness because of what he endured with the accident. Woods has been put through the wringer in the past years. A lot of his own doing too.

But, this past weekend he made the cut and competed in one of the greatest golf tournaments ever. Eldrick is a 15-time major winner. Second only to Jack Nicklaus. Starting today, I will never say I’m sick, tired, or whatever after what Woods dealt with his pain during the Masters. He obviously was in a ton of pain playing all those holes at Augusta.

But, he did it. He used ice-cold baths and a lot of medical attention. I still can’t believe he accomplished that under those circumstances.

I never thought Woods was soft but he showed me a lot about mind over matter and pure toughness. Tiger will always be one of the all-time greats but he reached another plateau this past weekend at the Masters. He came out with flying colors with his determination and intensity!
