Michigan State Women's Basketball will be without one of its best ever in program history next year as Aerial Powers has declared for the WNBA Draft, foregoing her senior season of eligibility.

Powers in a statement said: "This was not an easy decision to make, but I want to thank Coach Merchant and all the coaches and support staff, my family and all of my teammates. I have enjoyed every second of being a Spartan, but now I look forward to the next chapter of my basketball career. Spartan nation will always hold a special place in my heart."

Powers in just three years with the Spartans leaves the program as the all-time career points leader (1,817) as well as the leader in single season scoring (697 points in 15-16) and career per game scoring (18.9) for the Spartans.

The WNBA Draft is April 14th with the first round airing on ESPN2 and rounds two and three airing on ESPNU. One month after the draft the WNBA will start it's 20th season of existence.

Powers is a consensus first round pick according to multiple mock draft services, including draftsite.com which has her going 2nd overall to the San Antonio Silver Stars.
