1. Royals Avoid Sweep, Regain Lead In Central

The Detroit Tigers took the loss against the Kansas City Royals on Wednesday night falling 3-0.  With the loss, the Kansas City Royals regained a 1 game lead in the AL Central.  The Tigers only got 2 hits last night coming from Torrii Hunter and Ian Kinsler.  Rick Porcello got the loss pitching 6 2/3 innings giving up 7 hits with 2 runs and 7 strikeouts.  James Shields pitching 7 scoreless innings giving up 2 hits and 8 strikeouts.  The other run was giving up by Joakim Soria, who pitched for the first time since coming off the DL.  The Royals will host the Red Sox for a weekend series.  The Tigers will have a day off before welcoming in the Cleveland Indians.

2. NFL Had Copy Of Rice Video

In the ever changing Ray Rice circumstance, a report came out yesterday which said the NFL had a copy of the tape.  In the report it was stated that an NFL executive confirmed the reception of the tape.  Because of this, the NFL has opened an investigation with a Former FBI Director Robert S. Mueller and will be overseen by owners John Mara (New York Giants) and Art Rooney (Pittsburgh Steelers).

3. Adam Silver Says Danny Ferry Should Not Be Fired

Adam Silver, who is in Barcelona for the FIBA World Championships, made a a comment about Danny Ferry to USA Today.  A few days ago, Danny Ferry made racist comments about Luol Deng.  In Silver's comments, he said that Ferry has a respectable track record was a factor in the decision.  This comes just months after the Donald Sterling saga in which Sterling was ousted from owner of the Clippers.

4. Team USA Advances To Semifinals

In the quarterfinals of the FIBA world championships, team USA has advanced to the semifinals after beating Slovenia 119-76.  Klay Thompson helped lead team USA to the semifinals after scoring 20 points and shooting 4 of 8 from behind the arc.  The 119 points is the most team USA has scored during the tournament.  Team USA will play Lithuania today in Barcelona looking for a spot in the finals.

5. Detroit Lions Injury Piling Up

After LaAdrian Waddle went down after the first series, his replacement, Corey Hilliard, played the game with an injured foot and is now going to be out for the season.  This comes right after Bill Bentley was on crutches during the game on.  Rookie Nevin Lawson stepped in to fill Bentley's role.
