1. Red Wings Lose 2nd In A Row

The Detroit Red Wings are looking to get back on track as they head to Ottawa to face off against the Senators.  The Red Wings were in a tough battle which they trailed 1-0 entering the third period.  But, the Red Wings could not capitalize on the early third period goal and ended up falling to the Senators 3-1.  Jimmy Howard was in net saving 29 of the 31 shots he faced but was out dueled by Craig Anderson saved 31 of the 32 shots.  The lone goal was scored by Henrik Zetterberg off of a rebound.  The Red Wings take on the New York Rangers tonight with puck drop scheduled for 8:00 pm.

2. Michigan State Stay Put In The Latest College Football Playoff Rankings

The Spartans are stationary in the latest College Football Playoff Rankings which were released last night.  Michigan State's opponent this week, Ohio State, has moved up two spots to 14, Nebraska has also moved up 2 spots to 13.  Oregon has cracked the top four in this weeks poll.  Check out the full rankings here.

3. Peterson Agrees to Plea

Minnesota Vikings running back, Adrian Peterson, has reached a plea deal to avoid jail time in his case against him for child abuse.  The deal includes court fees, $4,000 fine and 80 hours of community service. The next question is when will Peterson get back into the Vikings uniform.  He was placed on the exempt/commissioner's permission list and now Goodell must rule on Peterson before he can play.  Read more about the case and reinstatement process here.

4. Brittney Griner Stabbed In China

While playing in China, Brittney Griner was cut by a knife on her elbow while leaving practice and boarding a bus. The man boarded the bus and attacked another player before being arrested by police.  Griner is playing her second year in China and her first year with the Berlin Great Wall basketball team. Giriner still feels safe in China and is continuing to play.

5. Derrick Rose Out Again

Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls is plagued with an injury again.  A week ago, Derrick Rose sprained his ankles in both legs.  There was hope that Rose would be able to play against the Magic but was ruled out after a warmups and shoot around.  Rose, who is coming back from a season ending injury, has not played a whole season since the 2010-2011 season.
