1. Detroit Pistons Lose To Wizards In Washington

Last night in Washington, the Pistons lost to the Wizards 107-103.  The Pistons fall to 2-6 on the season and 0-2 on the current road trip.  The Pistons did jump out to a lead in the first quarter outscoring Washington 34-24 in the first quarter.  But, Washington chipped away on that lead and took the lead late in the 4th quarter.  In the final quarter, the Pistons were outscored 25-18 in which they lost their lead. Brandon Jennings was on fire last night shooting 11-19 and scoring 32 points and had 10 assists.  Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Greg Monroe were the only other Pistons in double figures.  Pistons will play again on Friday as they will travel to Oklahoma City to take on the Thunder.

2. Tigers Make An Overnight Trade

Late last night, the Tigers made a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays.  The Tigers sent Devon Travis for Anthony Gose, 24 year old outfielder.  Devon Travis was recently named the highest rated prospect by Baseball America.  Anthony Gose hit .234 last year with 15 steals and plays center field, a hole which the Tigers needed to fill since the Austin Jackson trade.  Read more about the trade here.

3. Victor Martinez Signs With Tigers

According to media reports, the Detroit Tigers have signed Victor Martinez to a new 4 year deal.  It is reported that the deal is worth $70 million dollars.  Dave Dembrowsky said signing him was a top priority this offseason.  Martinez is in the discussion for the AL MVP after having a breakout year.  Read more about the deal here.

4. Cy Young Award Winners Announced

Last night, the Cy Young award winner for the American League and the National League were announced.  As many expected, the National League Cy Young award was awarded to Clayton Kershaw of the LA Dodgers. Kershaw had an ERA of 1.77 going 21-3.  He also won the Cy Young last year and in 2011.  For the American League, Indians pitcher Corey Kluber won the Cy Young.  Kluber started with high ERA early in the year and has just become more dominant throughout the year.  Kluber ended with a 2.24 and a 18-9 record.

5. Blake Griffin Facing Battery Charge

Blake Griffin is facing battery charge over an incident in a Las Vegas night club.  Arraignment is scheduled for December 8th.  If convicted, Griffin will face up to 6 months of jail and/or $1,000 fine or community service.  Read more about the October 19th altercation here.
