1. Open Championship Tees Off This Morning

The Open Championship teed off this morning at Royal Liverpool Golf Club.  Tiger Woods teed off at 4:04 this morning and has been struggling through the front 9.  Phil Mickelson tees off at 9:05 am.  The cut will be set late today or early when all players have finished at least one round.  Coverage can be found on ESPN all day today.  The up to date leaderboard can be found here.

2. Andy Dirks Suffer A Minor Setback

The Tigers will need to wait to get outfielder Andy Dirks back as he has a minor setback in his rehab assignments.  He was recalled due to inflammation in his back.  Dirks was batting .313 with a double and a RBI in single-A Lakeland.  After his back surgery Dirks was supposed to be back after 12 weeks and was going to spend 20 days in the minors but now it is unknown when he will be back and if he will be back in the MLB with the Tigers with the handful of outfielders the Tigers have.

3. Drew VarHagen Called Up For Saturdays Doubleheader

Detroit Tigers are expected to call up prospect Drew VarHagen for Saturday's double header against the Indians. VarHagen has a 6-7 record and has a 3.67 ERA and has allowed 3 or fewer runs in last five starts and has pitched at least 7 innings in four of the five starts.  He is ranked the number 12 overall prospect of the Tigers by MLB.com.  The Tigers play again Friday night against the Indians.

4. Rodney Stuckey Goes To Indiana

Rodney Stuckey is going to the Indiana Pacers on a one-year contract.  Rodney Stuckey was the first round pick by the Detroit Pistons in 2007 out of Eastern Washington University.  Stucky had six head coaches since he joined the team.  He averaged 13.4 points and 3.9 assists in 483 games, 265 of those are starts.

5. ESPYS Winners

Last night in Los Angeles the ESPYS, hosted by Drake, were on the ESPN family of networks.  The sports award ceremony included some surprise winners but, one Detroit athlete did win an award as Miguel Cabrera took home Best MLB Player.  Best coach was Geno Auriemma, UCONN's Women's Basketball Coach and best team was the Seattle Seahawks.  Best moment was the USA's win of Ghana a few weeks ago in the World Cup.  A list of the winners can be found here.
