1. Red Wings Top Blues In St. Louis

Last night, the Detroit Red Wings topped an old division rival, winning in St. Louis 3-2 in overtime.  The Wings were able to top the Blues thanks to Pavel Datsyuk's overtime winner. This was the last of a 6 game road trip which brought the Red Wings from Western Canada to the East Coast with the Red Wings winning 4 of the 6 games and 6 of the last 9 games.  The other goals were scored by Joakim Anderson and Tomas Tartar.  Both of these goals came in the 2nd period.  Petr Mrazek saved 25/27 shots he faced as he takes over goaltender duties from Jimmy Howard because of injury.  The Red Wings next game will be at home tomorrow night vs the Nashville Predators.  They will have one more home game on Tuesday before entering the All Star Break.

2. Ray Rice and Ravens Agree On Settlement

Former Ravens running back Ray Rice and the Baltimore Ravens agree on a settlement after Rice filed a grievance back in October.  Rice was looking for his base salary of $3.529 million after his contract was terminated. Both sides agreed before the hearing slated for Thursday afternoon.  Read more about the agreement between the two sides here.

3. Lady Spartan Able To Win First Big Ten Game

Last night at the Berslin Center, the Lady Spartan Basketball team was able to top Illinois 63-56.  Arielle Powers was on fire going 8/19 from the field and 14/15 from the free throw line ending with 33 points.  Becca Mills scored 13 points for MSU while grabbing 12 rebounds.  MSU improved to 9-8 (1-5) this season as the Big Ten season gets underway. The Spartans next game will be against Sunday as they host Iowa at Breslin Center.

4. Cardale Jones Will Stay At Ohio State

Yesterday, Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones announced that he will be returning to Ohio State next season.  Jones came in after J.T. Barrett got hurt at the end of the regular season.  Cardale Jones won the three largest games of the year with the Big Ten Championship vs Wisconsin, The Sugar Bowl and College Football Playoff Semi-final against Alabama and the College Football Playoff Championship game against Oregon.  As of now, Ohio State has three quarterbacks that will be able to play right away.

5. Washington Hire Former Dallas Offensive Coordinator

In more NFL shuffle, Washington has hired former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator.  Bill Callahan took over the Oakland Raiders after Jon Gruden was traded to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and took the team to the Super Bowl.  Sources have said that it is very lucrative deal after receiving deals from both Washington and Dallas.  Read more here about the Callahan move.
