1. Pelicans No Match For Pistons

Last night at the Palace of Auburn Hills, the Pistons hosted the New Orleans Pelicans.  The Pistons got off to a cold start only scoring 36 points in the first half.  Even with a 2nd half flurry, the Pistons untimely fell 105-94.  Brandon Jennings lead the pistons with 19 points but was 4-12 from the field.  Greg Monroe also had 16 points but was 2 rebounds away from another double-double.  For the Pelicans, Anthony Davis lead the way with 27 points and 10 rebounds.  Tyreek Evans also added 18 points during the game.  The Pistons next game will be Friday night as they travel to the Indiana Pacers before coming home and hosting the 76ers.

2. Marcus Mariota Enters The NFL Draft

Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota has declared for the NFL draft.  Mariota, who played for Oregon, had a spectacular season leading the Ducks to an appearance in the College Football Playoff Championship Game.  Mariota is projected to be the first overall pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  Read more about Mariota and the NFL draft here.

3. Oakland Raiders Hire Jack Del Rio As Head Coach

Yesterday, reports are saying that the Oakland Raiders will hire Jack Del Rio as their next head coach.  Del Rio was with the Denver Bronco's as the defensive coordinator since 2012.  Del Rio has had significant coaching experience as the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars who was the head coach from 2003-2011.  In those years, he lead his team to 2 playoff appearances.  He hosts a 68-71 record and a 1-2 playoff record.

4. 49ers to Promote Jim Tomsula To Head Coach

Yesterday, the San Francisco 49ers said that Jim Tomsula will be promoted to head coach.  Tomsula has been the defensive line coach with the 49ers since 2007 and has 1 game experience as a head coach.  In 2010, he was promoted as the interim head coach and has a 1-0 record.  Tomsula has been a head coach before in NFL Europe back in 2006 for the Rhein Fire.  Read more about Tomsula and the hire for the San Francisco 49ers here.

5. Dak Prescott Is Returning To Mississippi State

Yesterday Dak Prescott and Mississippi State announced that the quarterback will be returning to school next year.  Prescott helped lead Mississippi State to the national landscape when Mississippi State had early season success against the SEC.  Prescott was also considered an early season Heisman Trophy finalist but, fell off after his team started losing.  Read more about Perscott and his decision to stay.
