1. OSU QB Braxton Miller Could Be Out All Season With Injury

Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller could be out the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.  Miller, who got hurt in the bowl game last year, had off season surgery to repair the shoulder.  According to reports, Miller was hurt throwing a routine pass during pass and was not hit to injure his shoulder.  Braxton Miller was considered a candidate for the Heisman Trophy during the preseason.  It is likely to see J.T. Barrett, a redshirt freshman will start next week against Navy.  Ohio State comes to East Lansing in November to play Michigan State under the lights.

2. Manziel Steals The Show As Browns Lose To Washington

Johnny Manziel and the Cleveland Browns were on ESPN Monday Night Football last night.  At about the 2:30 mark of the 3rd quarter, while ESPN cameras were focusing on Manziel, when he flipped off the Washington bench.  Many are expecting around an $11,000 fine for doing that.  Manziel went 7/16 for 65 yards and 1 touchdown pass.  Former Spartan, Brian Hoyer, who got the start and went 2/6 for 16 yards.  Kirk Cousins and Robert Griffin III both played well.  Cousins went 12/21 for 145 yards and 1 touchdown and 1 interception.  Robert Griffin III went 6/8 for 112 yards and 1 interception.

3. Royals Win Again

The Kansas City Royals beat the Minnesota Twins 6-4 and extended their lead in the AL Central to 2 games over the Detroit Tigers.  Vargas got his 10th win of the season going 7 innings, giving up 1 run with 3 strikeouts.  Kansas City continues their road trip as they travel to Colorado to play the Rockies for two games before going to Texas for 3 games.

4. Defensive Tackle Darnell Dockett Out With Torn ACL

Arizona Cardinals and longtime defensive tackle Darnell Dockett will be out with a torn ACL he suffered in practice.  He will need season ending injury.  Dockett has played in the league since 2004 as he entered his 11th season with the Cardinals.  Before this injury, Dockett has only missed two games during his career.

5. Rafael Nadal Withdraws From US Open

Entering the final Grand Slam of the year, Rafael Nadal will need to pull out due to a wrist injury.  This hurts Nadal, 28, chance to top Roger Federer's Grand Slam Title total, which is set at 17.  Nadal, who is already tied with American great Pete Samprass with 14 Grand Slam Titles.  The US Open starts next Monday.
