The world has lost one of the greatest characters in all sports, Lawrence Peter "Yogi " Berra.

"Yogi" passed away at the age of 90 two days ago. This man was a special individual. Not only a great baseball player, but also a war hero and a survivor of D-day.

Yogi Berra was not only known for baseball greatness with the New York Yankees, he was also known for his original classic quotes. His quotes are legendary, like" it ain't over til it's over" and " if you come to the fork in the road take it."

Yogi was an outstanding player, where he caught and played outfield for the New York Yankees. To this day he holds many World Series records, like 10 World Series rings, the most World Series games played (75), and many various hit records. I will always tell the young baseball fan that Yogi Berra was greatness on and off the field.

The New York Yankees are arguably the greatest pro-sports franchise ever and Berra was a backbone for their success. Yeah, Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, Mantle Rizzuto are names you will now identify with the Yankees. But "Yogi " Berra will always be along side of those all-time greats because he was one of them. Rest in peace Yogi .
