World Champion Hot Dog Eater Coming To Lansing This Summer
The Lansing Lugnuts announced on Thursday morning that world champion competitive eater Joey Chestnut will make an appearance at Jackson Field later this summer.
The 15-time world hot dog eating champion (pictured above) is scheduled to appear in Lansing on August 10th as part of Olive Burger Night at the ballpark in downtown Lansing.
It's part of many promotions that the Lugnuts will do in the 2023 season. It all starts with the Crosstown Showdown on April 4th when they play Michigan State in a seven-inning exhibition game. The regular season begins on April 7th at the Great Lakes Loons. And then the home opener is on Tuesday, April 11th against the arch-rival West Michigan Whitecaps.
The Lansing Lugnuts enter their 27th season in 2023. They have been the Class High-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics since 2021. They have been affiliated with the Kansas City Royals, Chicago Cubs, and the Toronto Blue Jays in the 26 years previously.
