The saga of whether or not Calvin Johnson will retire has taken another twist that will leave Lions fans possibly rejoicing.

To recap, in early January it was revealed that Megatron was considering retirement at the age of 30. Then later that month, sources close to the situation told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Johnson would certainly be retiring.

It has been a little over six weeks, as of this writing, since Johnson said in the initial retirement speculation report, "I would expect to have a decision regarding this matter in the not-too-distant future.”

Meanwhile, the NFL has had two players retire at the age of 29 so far this offseason. Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch and New England linebacker Jerod Mayo both have announced they are stepping away from the game of football this month.
