With a Bye Week to Prepare for Notre Dame, Dantonio Focused on Working
The bye week has come early again for Michigan State this season. Given that last year's bye was week one (and that meant 12 straight weeks of football). It's a welcome respite for Mark Dantonio and his players. But make no mistake, they will be working hard to prep for Notre Dame on a national stage next Saturday.
Dantonio has also praised his team's efforts so far. "2-0 was the goal and that's where we are right now heading into this bye" Michigan State has dominated two MAC opponents so far this season. Though the scores have been close, the yardage numbers tell the true story. MSU is outgaining opponents 461 yards to 203 yards of offense per game.
Dantonio was also asked about his thoughts on the Notre Dame rivalry, which is Michigan State's next opponent out of the bye and he had glowing praise for the historic rivalry.
There was also a note about the currently unnamed Michigan State football players who are travelling to Houston to aid in hurricane Harvey recovery.
Dantonio was also asked about a lot of players and his assessment of them so far. He has gone very deep into some of his positions on the depth chart and he has been impressed with all that he has seen out of the young players. Remember this is a team that is about 3:1 underclassmen right now by eligibility.
The Spartans are off this week before a big week four clash against Notre Dame under the lights in Spartan Stadium. You can catch all the action right here on your home for Spartan football, Classic Rock 94.9 WMMQ and Lansing's Big Talker 1240 WJIM.
