Michigan State football has done something in the past few years its fans aren't used to--that is winning on a consistent basis. MSU lost just one game last year, before winning the Big Ten Championship over Thee Ohio State.

After that famed game that I attended in early December, MSU had gone on to win the Rose Bowl over Stanford. Something Michigan State University hadn't done in 27 years--another game I attended. The last time was during the George Perles era and they beat USC. Historic names like Lorenzo White, Tony Mandarich, Andre Rison, and a group of outstanding college players. Those guys went on to play in the NFL.

Now, there is the Mark Dantonio era, and that's what I'm talking about. This year they had a tough loss to Oregon on the road. Oregon is ranked No. 5 in the country, MSU is seventh. This Saturday is a gigantic game for both Urban Meyer's Buckeyes of Thee Ohio State and Dantonio's Spartan's. This will be an electric atmosphere in East Lansing.

Thee Ohio State is still stinging from that loss at last year's Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis. This should be the biggest game in all of the college world Saturday. It should be a slobber knocker. MSU has really turned the corner for the better under the guidance of head coach Mark Dantonio.
