The Detroit Red Wings got past the Buffalo Sabres 4-2 Tuesday night at the First Niagara Center in Buffalo. The Sabres (21-28-9) took the lead in the first period with a goal from Zemgus Girgensons who also had Buffalo's other goal in the third.  Detroit (38-27-12) evened the score at 1 with Brendan Smith's second period goal.  Third period goals by Darren Helm and David Legwand secured the win and Pavel Datsyuk completed the scoring with an empty net goal. The Red Wings only need one point in the next three games to qualify for their 23rd straight trip to the postseason.  Detroit plays again Wednesday night in Pittsburgh to face the Penguins.  Pregame coverage begins at 7:40pm on The Game 730am.
